So as I tossed & turned nightly due to the stress from my job at the bank I realized something. I was 26 years old, going through a bit of a quarter life crisis, and realized it was time for a major life change.
A couple years earlier my Mom had moved out west to Seattle and I had been missing her desperately. My sister & brother-in-law also moved to Seattle a year later and I ended up falling in love after a visit or two. So why not head west? So I did my research, as I always do, located a position of interest via Craigslist and scored an interview! Of course it was a mid-level job, not the kind that will fly you out, so I had to buy a ticket & fly out over a weekend and be back to work that Monday! I knew I aced the interview and enjoyed my weekend in town. Shortly after I returned home I was notified that I had been chosen for the position. I was thrilled, but then came the goodbyes. It was hard leaving the hometown I’d known all my life and left my sweet family & friends to start a whole new life. My girls & my dad helped me pack up and my mom flew out to drive with me.
We drove cross country from Michigan to Washington in my packed leased Buick Rendezvous with our Shelby cat! We arrived in Seattle on Friday and I started my new job on Monday! That Monday morning as I waited for my new boss to retrieve me from the lobby I laid eyes on the guy that would change the trajectory of my life forever. This is where the story gets interesting. I began the path to motherhood at this point and didn’t even know it!
